Newport Beach Back Bay | Dog Friendly Trails in Newport
Dog Friendly Hiking in Newport Beach Back Bay
Since we got massive amounts of rain here in Southern California every hiker, adventurer, and outdoorsy person I know is on the hunt for wildflowers. Newport Beach Back Bay is gorgeous any time of year but can be even better when the wildflowers in bloom.
I had heard some rumors that the Newport Beach Back Bay was covered with beautiful wildflowers. So, I packed up little Lemon, got our new nifty Cannon camera and headed out to….hopefully, catch a glimpse of some wildflower fields!
We found just what we had been searching for. Massive amounts of flowers everywhere, as far as your eyes could see. Insanely gorgeous!
What You Need to Know
The preserve is open daily, it usually does get rather busy on nice weekend days. And will probably get busier and busier as word spreads about the flowers! The preserve covers roughly 135 acres and offers visitors trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding! This is also a great location to do some bird watching.
