Buckeye Trail: Cuyahoga Valley National Park | Northeast Ohio Winter Hiking | CVNP In The Winter

Buckeye Trail: Cuyahoga Valley National Park | Northeast Ohio Winter Hiking | CVNP In The Winter

Today I’m very much so regretting that I thought conditions weren’t bad enough for microspikes. I hike in California for goodness sake. I summit mountains that tower over the highest elevation in Ohio. I don’t need microspikes I told myself. I’m an avid hiker I said, this will be a walk in the park. I changed my mind quickly when I fell behind my hiking group because I could barely walk on the iced covered trail and they were just…

Hike So Hard: South Chargin Reservation

Hike So Hard: South Chargin Reservation

Lemon’s first snow hike and she made in back in one piece! Thank freakin goodness! I was worried about how the tiny monster would do in the snow and I’m here to report back that we finally found Lemon’s weakness. Turns out the pooch is a total freeze baby just like moi. (More on that later) We headed to the Cleveland Metroparks South Chagrin Reservations to check out two separate trails: Squaw Rock Loop Trail: A 0.6 mile loop hike bordering the…

Chapin Forest Cross-country Skiing | NorthEast Ohio Winter Activities | Lake Metropark Winter Fun

What good is the warmth of summer without the chill of winter! -John Steinbeck Being born and raised in Ohio I can tell you that when the first snow hits you go through what I refer to as a honeymoon stage of your relationship with winter. The snow looks beautiful, you get a smile on your face thinking about fireplaces and hot chocolate, you even tell yourself that it doesn’t feel “that” cold. Well I’m happy to report that I’m…

NorthEast Ohio Winter Adventures | Exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park in the Winter| CVNP Snow Day

Greetings from Winter Wonderland…or better known as North East Ohio. The first snow of every winter is just simply beautiful. There is almost no way to actually describe what the first snow of winter looks like, smells like, and feels like. It’s just so clean, so crisp, so pure and bright! But the novelty quickly wears off… remember snow only stays around when the temps are below freezing (that’s 32 degrees folks)..the salt and dirty snow gets on everything including but…

Seven Magic Mountains

Vegas Baby! Heading on home and I had no clue we’d be traveling through Vegas when we started this trip. But when I figured out it was totally on the way home,  I got super excited! A Day in Zion National Park | Traveling to Zion National Park with A Dog

Wow!!! This place simply takes my breath away. I wasn’t exactly planning on stopping at Zion National park. I thought it’d take a different route… then last minute I decided to go.  I’m so glad I did. I can’t fully describe how this place makes you feel but there is something magical in the air. Some kind of nature escape peacefulness  that I’ve never felt before! Once again the Tiny Monster limited things but that’s a okay with me cause…

We’ve Arrived in Page, Arizona!

We’ve Arrived in Page, Arizona!

Here was the sunset on the drive out of the Grand Canyon. It was beautiful! Headed out to Page and checked into the La Quinta which was my absolute savior. The hotel is dog friendly!!!! Thank goodness….and like super dog friendly, no extra fees for a pet, you can leave the pet in the room while you go explore, and we even saw like 4 other pups in the hotel. Oh, and we got free breakfast.. Score! After my experience…

Not just any Canyon my friends. We’re talking about the Grand Canyon!

Ok car update. I noticed the tire pressure light on yesterday, after my off roading expedition and I decided I needed to take the rental to a local tire shop before leaving for the Grand Canyon. I also noticed that both front tires now had hub caps that didn’t exactly look how they did before. Uhoh!!!! Tire shop took a look. Both tires are fine, just had to get some air in the tires, phew! But the hub caps are…
